I think the only reason Starmer isn’t out yet is the people who are puppeting him have no one good to replace him with, at least according to their standards. Streeting is touted but only by the most disliked people around, Burnham seems not acquiescent enough to the right, who else do they have? Most of their ghouls are linked to McSweeney and Mandelson. They are stuck and they deserve it. This is what you get when your politics come down to: get power, serve power, stop change, stop democracy.
And the worst thing is: they fought years for this circus, stopped real life-saving policies from being implemented to strengthen their grip. All in service of this nest of backbiters, opportunists, bigots, neoliberal lunatics and nonce-protectors. The human cost for this venality is just unthinkable.
