When Your Home Office is a Closet (Literally)
Working from home sounded glamorous until I realizedĀ my "office" was a repurposed coat closet. My "desk" is a folding table. My "view" is a wall of winter jackets I refuse to admit I donāt need in Virginia.
Iād kill for a real workspaceāone withĀ wallsĀ andĀ outletsĀ and maybe even a door that closes. Enter:Ā home additions in McLean. Mosaicās page had a genius example of a garage conversion: same footprint, but transformed into a bright office/guest suite.
Now Iām obsessed with the idea of:
AĀ tiny detached studioĀ in the backyard (no more Zoom calls interrupted by dog barks)
AĀ bump-out sunroomĀ (because natural light = productivity, right?)
Or, if Iām feeling wild, aĀ second-story perchĀ with skylights
Realistically, this is a "maybe next year" project. But for now, Iāve at least cleaned out the closet. (And by "cleaned out," I mean shoved the coats under the bed.)
