Unfortunately, there seems to be far more opportunity out there than ability.... We should remember that good fortune often happens when opportunity meets with preparation.

Coaches and parents almost every baseball/softball player wants to play at the next level whatever that level might be. Take time to help them process through their goals, create a healthy plan, a path, and then continuously question/challenge & re-evaluate it. They have to take ownership and you have to meet them where they are with grace and encouragement. Walk with them don’t be a hypocrite. Make sure they are not just chasing what is cool or just where they think they want to go…. Make them have a a reason with some weight, but most importantly help them chase the things that will help get them there. The journey is often times the most enjoyable part of reaching any goal. Get to moving with goals that have a plan, and never forget if you stay ready you don’t have to get ready..
Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character.
-Alan Armstrong
