Aly pulled into the small parking lot at the center and hurried out of her seat to open Mckayla’s door for her. She gently took her wife’s hand, helping her down from the big Denali. They walked hand in hand only stopping for talking to Kendall’s friends’ parents.

They finally reached room 13, Kendall’s classroom. Aly grabbed Kendall’s book bag off her hook as Mckayla called for their dark haired daughter from the block corner. The little girl grinned widely as she hurried over to her mothers.

They walked together hand in hand with Kendall in the middle swinging their joined hands back and forth as she talked about her day. She told Mckayla how she went across the monkey bars without falling once. She then told Aly how she learned to braid better by practicing on Lexie’s hair.

They drove in silence once again due to Kendall falling fast asleep after telling them all the playground drama. Mckayla spent her time riding staring at Aly with loving eyes and humming along with the songs on the radio. When they had reached the frozen yogurt place, Aly looked at Mckayla for long seconds before leaning over and kissing Mckayla softly.

“I love you,” she whispered softly. Mckayla’s breath hitched, even after all these years those words never failed to take her breath away.

“I love you to Aly Cat.”

Aly gently woke Kendall up and carried the little girl into the shop with Mckayla on her other side holding her hand. They saw Jordyn and Viktoria with their son, Logan, and made their way over. Mckayla grabbed Kendall a booster seat and sat it between her and Aly as Aly ordered their treats.

“Hey Jo! Hey Vika!  Heyyyyy Logie,”Aly said grinning at the blonde boy. Logan erupted into a fight of giggles and waved to Aly excitedly. They exchanged small talk until their desserts arrived.

“Logan don’t play with your food!” Viktoria scolded the little boy. Logan stopped dead in his tracks and looked at the short woman with wide green eyes.

“Yeah Logan what would Nana say?” Mckayla chimed in smiling at the small boy.

“She would say stop wouldn’t she?” Jordyn asked eyeing him.

“No! That’s not what Nana says!” Logan said correcting his mother.

“She doesn’t? What does Nana say then?” Aly asked. Logan stopped eating his yogurt, he stared off into space as he thought deeply.

Then, mimicking his grandma’s voice to the best of his four year old ability he says, “Logan get out of that bed!”

The whole group including Kendall busted into laughter as the imagined the older woman saying exactly that.

“What does David say?” Kendall asked her best friend.

Logan put his hand on his head as he thought hard again. He then copied Jordyn’s dad’s voice and said, “hehe David’s boy.” Jordyn shook her head laughing as everyone giggled.

“Watch this,” Viktoria whispered to Aly across the table, “Logan, what does mama say?”

Without hesitation Logan put his hands up in the air saying, “Logan pick up your toys!” Dropping them down with each word.

The entire group busted into hysterics as Jordyn flushed bright red. She looked over at Mckayla and grinned evilly. “Logan, what does mommy say?” Jordyn asked smirking.

Logan put his head in his hands and sighed loudly so everyone could hear him, “You’re driving me insane kid.” Everyone tried to hold in their laughter as Viktoria glared at her wife and son laughing hysterically.

They had all eventually finished eating/drinking their frozen yogurt and decided to part ways. Mckayla carried a sleeping Kendall in her arms into the big house. She carried the small child up the stairs to her bedroom as Aly stayed downstairs making their coffee.

Aly listened to the soft buzzing of the Keurig as she waited for Mckayla to tuck the little girl in. She suddenly felt a pair of arms snake around her waist and soft hair brush her cheek as Mckayla rested her head on her shoulder. They stayed bathing in each other’s warmth as they waited for Aly’s coffee to finish brewing. When it finally did they walked over to the large sectional in the living room.

Aly sat down first outstretching her body so Mckayla would have room to snuggle up to her. Aly absent mindedly weaved a piece of Mckayla’s long hair as they sat silently listening to each other’s breathing. Aly looked down to see Mckayla half asleep with the empty cup in her hand. Aly slowly and gently took the cup from her and set both of theirs down on the table beside her. She then took Mckayla by the hand and led her to their bedroom.

After getting ready for bed and putting their sleepwear on, they climbed into their usually positions. Mckayla took two pillows, putting one in front of her face and the other under her head. Aly climbed in behind her slinging her leg over both Mckayla’s.

“I love you Mackie Poo,” Aly sighed before drifting into sleep.
