Hey guys!! So it looks like R//76 week collides with the dates most of you voted for, so to avoid colliding with their week, we'll be doing the second most popular option! 

For as many times as he inquires of Jesse’s well being, it’s Ana who has to tell him that Jesse broke down on the practice range. 

“He doesn’t want you to think him weak,” Ana says gently, when Gabriel becomes visibly upset by the news. 

“How could I?” Gabriel demands, and Ana assures him again that it isn’t his fault, though he can’t help but think, if the look in her eyes is any indication, that it is, a little. 

He can’t blame her for thinking so; Jesse wouldn’t like her to say anything on the matter, so she holds her tongue. Even so, Gabriel’s known Ana for years now, and her quiet look of disapproval is as easily recognized as her most vibrant smile. 

Jesse pretends to sleep when Gabriel enters his room. Gabriel’s ribs ache; Jesse curls under his blankets with only his hair peeking out from underneath them, and the only immediate clue that he’s been crying is the slightest tremble of his shoulders. 

Gabriel sits on the edge of the bed. “I wish you would talk to me,” he says, soft. 

Jesse’s shape tightens, closing in on himself. 

Gabriel’s throat closes up and spills all at once, weeks of worry bleeding through his voice. “I can’t do anything for you but listen. I wish I hadn’t -” and he stops there, because he can’t say that, because it’d mean Jesse’s sacrifice was in vain, or worse, that saving the hostages wasn’t worth it, and neither of those are true.  

“You always came to me before,” he says, and his voice cracks.  

There’s a pause, and Jesse finally tugs the covers down enough to reveal his eyes, bloodshot and glistening. “Ain’t ever been this bad before,” he says, a whisper. “I can’t shoot.” 

"So what?” Gabriel asks, eyes flitting over what little of Jesse he can see. “You’re two weeks out of surgery. You don’t even have a prosthetic fitted.” 

“Angela thinks I oughta retire.” 

Gabriel hesitates. He’s considered it, the fact that Jesse might want to. “You could,” he says finally. 

Jesse laughs humorlessly. “Do I have a choice?” 

“Yes,” Gabriel answers, fast and immediate, even though his stomach turns at the thought of Jesse leaving.

“What use am I?” 

Gabriel doesn’t answer. Instead, he tugs at Jesse’s blankets, murmurs “Can I...?” and crawls in beside him when Jesse nods. What’s left of his arm presses awkwardly between them. Fresh tears spring to Jesse’s eyes. 

Gabriel presses their foreheads together and swallows. Jesse squeezes his eyes shut, determined not to cry. Gabriel says, “You’re more than what you can do here. You know that.” 

“I can’t shoot,” Jesse says, watery. 

“I don’t care.”

So this another request and I had a lot of fun editing it. Thanks a lot.

Anyway I hate Sony Vegas as I had to render this vid seven times and I feel so exhausted. I think I spent more time rendering it over and over again than actually vidding. x) Sometimes I think that I need to make shorter videos but I just can't. It's not my style so here we are with my inspired vision of their relationship. But still it was a very enjoyable experience. Especially when I finally can vid something with my OTP. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
