it’s over anakin, i have the high ground
and this is what forever is: endless crests and crowns, all varying shades of soft blue, enveloped by a translucent haze. forever, you decide, is where you want to be.
instax photos taken in october at the summit of mcafee’s knob in catawba, va. i didn't know this until recently, but apparently its considered the most scenic point along the appalachian trail! i believe it, and its worth nothing that i didn't boost the saturation in these photos; the only manipulation of the colors that i added was a soft warming filter, so yes, the mountains really are that blue 💙 its a long hike, but not a hard one. if you get the chance you should go some day
My dog isn’t perfect but damn if he doesn’t have this posing thing down

McAfee Knob
Throughout the world, there are, of course,  many “knobs” such as the one used for the stunning season 4 promo key art. The “Fraser’s Ridge” area of North Carolina is just a few hours south of McAfee Knob, Virginia, where my photo was taken while hiking the Appalachian Trail. I LOVE that there are still places in our world where there is deep and untouched beauty. Who knows - maybe the key art is a photoshop of a similar looking place in Scotland, but I like to think that for the sake of authenticity, the OL folks used a knob photo from the southern Appalachians, an area I know and love.Â
