This is a rare opportunity to acquire works directly from a Museum show - PRIMAVERA 2019 featuring @maningridaarts artists Rosina Gunjarrwanga and Kenan Namunjdja is on view at @mca_australia until 20 February. Since 1992, PRIMAVERA has showcased the works of young artists who are at the forefront of representing progressive trends in Australian contemporary art. For its 2019 iteration, Mitch Cairns was appointed curator, selecting seven artists from across the country. Of these seven, two young indigenous artists, Rosina Gunjarrwanga and Kenan Namunjdja of Maningrida Arts & Culture, present intricate bark paintings and lorrkkon (hollow log burial poles) which reference sacred sites and ancestral beings, as well as ceremonial design. This is a rare opportunity to acquire works directly from a Museum show.
