Sylus eventually wakes up and notices his wife is missing and immediately goes to look for her. He hears laughter coming from the kitchen and as he gets closer he recognizes the voices

Finally at the entrance he sees the three of them cooking together and having fun. He can't help but smile fondly at the sight suddenly feeling emotional.

When they notice his presence they beckon him over excitedly, and with an amused laugh he joins them for their late night snack. It's an assortment of different things they all crave.

Huddled together around the counter they eat and talk about random things, interests, daily occurrences. Simple yet meaningful exchanges. The Sylus of the past would've never imagined this. Domesticity was once a foreign concept, family was an idea he had once given up on.

But it didn't seem foreign or impossible now, on the contrary, he believes in the possibility of them very well. He has a family, a home, a safe place. There are people he loves and love him.

He doesn't notice it, not until Luke hesitantly points it out.

He's crying.

He feels unusually vulnerable, an urge to run away-to hide, is present. Instinct to not lower his guard. He almost listens, but immediately pushes the thought away when he feels three pairs of arms around him.

It's quiet with the exception of his barely suppressed sniffles. They don't ask questions nor offer any words, they just let him feel. Arms hugging him tightly, grounding, a silent 'we're here'

You look up at his face and grin with realization, hand freezing on his chest.

“Zaynie are you nervous?”

“Ahem, not at all, as your teacher I need to make sure you understand all conditions of the heart.”

You wink, “I think your condition is love sick then.”

“Pips… come to bed..” he rubs the sleep from his eyes as he sits up from the light coming from your switch.

“I can’t Caleb!! My Mii has rejected you 5 times already and I’m not stopping until we’re dating.” He wraps an arm around your waist as he snuggles into it.

“Babe, we’re dating in real life it’s okay it’ll happen naturally in your game.” You furrow your brow as you look over at him, snuggling up to your waist tiredly.

“How would you feel if my Mii dated someone else’s Mii?” He freezes and buries himself further in your waist as he mumbles.

“….I’d probably delete the other Mii..”

“Exactly! But I put a lot of work into making it, so I wouldn’t wanna delete it..”

Caleb hums in agreement and hugging you tighter as you continue with your constant saving and rebooting the game. You yawn as you continue your rebooting, causing Caleb to sit up. He gentle grabs the switch from your hands and just changes everyone else’s dating preferences and he hums. The confession cutscene starts again and he smiles seeing that he’s the only option.

Caleb yawns and turns over to you and kisses your cheek before saving the game.

“All done… You have to wake up for work in 4 hours..”

He sets the switch on bedside table in its dock and pulls you into his arms. Hugging you tightly and pulling you close.. “Sleep now pips..”

Feeling his arms around you sleep surrounds you instantly, Caleb only fully falls asleep hearing your steady breath.

Caleb is tying his tie whilst looking in the mirror, he’s tilting his head checking that his uniform is in order. While looking at his reflection he notices you in the reflection. You’re ready for work, so with your extra time your playing tomodachi life again. He rolls his eyes and walks over to you and kisses your head.

Glancing over at your switch to see what your doing he sees his Mii, he widened his eyes a bit seeing you gave him the dog kennel room interior. You smile at him, clearly nothing is wrong with it. Giving him a kiss on the cheek you send him off to work.

You end up taking your switch with you, keeping it in your purse and playing it with your free time and sending him updates. You text him things like…

“Your Mii just beat me in a mini game. I’m gonna fight you tn.”

“I just gave your Mii cilantro as punishment for making mine mad.”

Caleb indulges you and he replies with “<3”, “<\3”, and “I would never do that to you, my Mii is wrong. Love you :)”
