MBP 13″ 2017 Review #1
Well um, my MBP 15″ 2011 is broken for the second time this year because of the GPU failure. This is enough to convince me that this problem is “un-repair-able” anymore.
So 18/08/2019 I’m heading to iBox in Manado and purchase MBP 13″ 2017 non touchbar. When unboxing I was in awe for the thinness. This thing has much less thinness and weight (I’m sure you know what I mean of you ever saw an 15″ 2011 MBP). And oh the space grey colour was amazing, kind of manly thing.
When opening the lid I saw wide trackpad (olympic size pool was on my mind to describe this). Then I type on it and oh this is very different typing experience. I have to adjust my typing habit and sometimes my typing position to make sure my palm is not touching the trackpad. The right and left arrow button has the same size as the option button. This makes me sometimes having a hard time to differentiate the navigation button.
Then I tested the speaker, I think it is more “well tuned” (or is it just my imagination?).
Other thing that bothering me is knowing that this device only have 2 USB-C port but luckily it has 3.5 port (I said lucky because we can’t find it on the iPhone anymore. I need to purchase online for the converter and I have to wait for around 1 week. Until today I haven’t got them. I can’t print, connect flashdrive, and other stuff that has to do with USB-B port (oh, and also with the display plug like VGA or HDMI). My work around for these problems are send email to my co-worker who sat beside me and ask to print the document. Online storage is work for these problems too.
Well, let’s see if there is another thing I can share about this MBP. Happy to share...
