The Bosawas rainforest is the largest rainforest north of the Amazon Basin. Illegal logging threatens the rainforestās #biodiversity and #Indigenous Peoples.ā A 1997 action at the Nicaraguan Embassy in #Washington, DC to protest the logging of the Bosawas rainforest was widely publicized in Nicaragua and led to the Nicaraguan government cancelling a 150,000 hectare illegal logging concession on Indigenous #Mayangna land in the #Bosawas.
