Inside the Mayakovskaya Metro Station, Moscow
Mayakovskaya - Moscow Metro station opening on 11 September 1938 . The name as well as the design is a reference to Futurism and its prominent Russian exponent Vladimir Mayakovsky. During World War II, it was used as a command post for Moscow's anti-aircraft regiment. Surrounded by filament lights there are a total of 34 ceiling mosaics by Alexander Deyneka with the theme "24-Hour Soviet Sky."
Маяковская - станция московского метрополитена, открыта 11 сентября 1938 года. Название и дизайн - отсылка к футуризму и его выдающемуся русскому представителю Владимиру Маяковскому. Во время Второй мировой войны станция использовалась в качестве командного пункта для московского зенитного полка и бомбоубежища. Помимо своей архитектуры станция знаменита 34 потолочными мозаиками Александра Дейнеки на тему «24-часовое советское небо».
