There were considerably less students on campus during this period of the year. The majority of those that still roamed Turing Academy were taking summer classes. The few others were drowning in thesis work and were in desperate need to catch up before their deadlines came. It was easy to tell which were which based on the dark circles around their eyes and the way they dragged their feet as they walked. That was surely a foreshadowing of how she would be next year.Â
For now she was free of summer courses and of the worries of thinking ahead about her thesis. She still spent a fair amount of time on campus because she was not free of her work at The Epigram, Turing’s student newspaper. June carried a stack of examples of their newest issue, leaving several of them in student lounges around the academy, in the libraries and even at the front desk of the fitness center. Last stop was the academy’s café, so with earphones plugged in she walked towards Common Grounds café, blissfully isolated from those around her as her music played on.
