LOTTIE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA the struggles that Sammy had been through. Despite what she obviously thought, he hadn’t MEANT for any of this to happen. His former self, the stressed out composer, would have done ANYTHING to save her from this fate. And yet, he couldn’t. He still remembered that awful day, the worst day of his life, the day that GODDAMN PIPE had burst, destroying most of his music and all of his sanity.

He didn’t remember everything, but he sure as hell remembered THAT.

“I did NOT do this to myself,” he growled, feeling a sudden rage overcome him. Rage that came from the GUILT brewing in his chest. Because he hadn’t protected her. His wedding vows… they were a vague memory, but he’d vowed to protect her until the day he died. And he’d failed.

Unless he was already dead.

She could fluster him so easily. She knew damn well it wasn’t candy; anyone with half a brain would know that. She was TEASING him. Sammy was blushing now, but he offered her a small grin nonetheless, trying to keep it together.

He didn’t hesitate in booting one of the Biddybabs with one of his large bipedal paws. He didn’t care much for Baby’s minions at the best of times, and he would happily deal with an earful from Baby herself for harming one of them if it meant keeping his mother figure safe. 

A growl escaping his chest speaker as he picked off the rest and threw them across the room.

🌈 " Oh-- why... I think I'm.... the shepherd. " He answers far too innocently and far too earnestly, a hand placed to the bright red heart on his chest. " And you're... a little black sheep, friend. " A beat of pause just a little too long as he remains eerily still until he finally makes a pleasant giggling sound. Had they forgotten their roles, had they forgotten their script? He fears the poor thing has forgotten their entire head with how they confuse his pristine narrative.

" You mustn't act so surprised. Is this not who I've always been to you? " The teacher's disorienting voice always sounded like he was talking in your thoughts, not the ear. And there was a reason he was so often determined to look into one's eyes. But this ex-disciple is just so indignant now... nothing ever seems to calm them.
