“Exactly.” It was nice to agree with someone and have someone understand her. She cherished her moments spent with Jamie, especially since she’d been the only best friend that Max had and one whom she confided in. “I’m planning on doing a rewatch of the show. But I haven’t had time with the extra shifts I’ve picked up as of recently. Do you want to come over and join me?” Usually it was far-fetched for Max to invite anyone over, because she was slightly embarrassed of her parents and what others would say about them, but because her and Jamie were close, she had been accepting of the whole ideal. “Maybe... sleepover? If you want to... of course.” Max shrugged a bit and exchanged a small smile before opening the door to enter into the school. She’d been known to party hard, but this did seem like a better plan. 

“So, what shall it be, stranger?” Max noticed the familiar face of Cosima over by the register. After calling out someone’s name for their order, she gave it to them before moving closer to assist her friend. It’d been quite sometime since she’d seen her friend, so it was nice to relive the past moments. “It’s a beautiful day, so are you looking or something cold to drink? Or at you like most people who come in for an extreme order of warm coffee, despite the weather outside?” Her joke was flatlined as humor wasn’t a thing most people caught on, but Max tried. At least she could smile to herself. Plus, it wasn’t really busy this time of day, so she knew that if she striked up a conversation, it wouldn’t be a big deal. 

“Being affectionate has to have a reason behind it?” Max asked, grinning warmly. She watched as the other had blushed and it made her smile in return. It wasn’t everyday she planted a kiss on someone’s cheek or anywhere else by that matter, but it was nice to see Arcadia light up. It warmed her heart. She awkwardly pulled her jacket closer to her, and glanced up at the taller woman almost in awe. “I think you’re really beautiful, Arcadia.” And she was genuine with her words. It was hard not to gush over anyone who stood in front of her as Max was still figuring out her sexuality, but she was friendly too-- hopefully it didn’t come across as weird to Arcadia.

“I don’t know. The shoes aren’t my favourite, but it’s not my wedding. You asked for my opinion and I gave it.” Max responded, awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck and shrugging a little. Honestly, she wasn’t sure why her sister asked her to be her maid-of-honour, they weren’t close and were total opposites of one another. Plus, the colour scheme wasn’t ideal for her. However, she was trying to make everything simpler for her sister the best she could and keep her happy as it was the most important thing. So, she’d deal with wearing the shoes because there seemed to be no way around it. It was a lose-lose situation, that is, until she could sneak on something else that was far more comfortable when it came to the reception and dancing. “Clearly you can tell I’m not much help. But I’m trying though... okay?” 

"Uh....” Max was a little bit hesitant at the other asking to invite themselves over. It seemed innocent, but she wasn’t exactly sure if it would be a good idea as she lived with really eccentric parents not too far away from campus. She loved them, don’t get her wrong, but because they still had this ‘70s hippy’ mentality to them, Max was a bit afraid that they could scare away her friend. Though the idea seemed fun, so could it really be fine? It was just a risk that Max was willing to take, and hopefully it would be okay. “Uh, you know what? Sure you can come over. I’d like that, actually.” Plus, Clove was right, it was better than being in a frat’s dingy basement that probably had mold, and most people were making out. Usually partying was her thing, but she didn’t feel like it this time. It got her a bit jealous not to have a significant other, but it’s not like it bothered her enough to make a fool out of herself and try. She didn’t really know where she stood on her sexuality, so there wasn’t much of an effort made, except that one time that indeed, Max does remember. The girl just never brought it up. And  Max Nichols was pretty content with succeeding in her program, making videos, and working-- oh, and keeping Clove as a friend, that was important too. Opening the door to the building, she let the other go in first before following close by her side and down the hall towards their lockers. “What do you like on your pizza?” 

“I’m not fashionable. Deal with it,” Max shot back. Though, she knew her comment was a little unnecessary. “Some days I wonder if Crystal or I are adopted instead of Geena. It would make a lot more sense. But I guess I’ve just got to do my part.” Why was she expressing this to Crystal’s friend? A bridesmaid? If she knew better, she should’ve been the Maid of Honour. It definitely would’ve made herself feel better. But also, on the other hand, she could see that she wouldn’t really like to take orders from someone that was close to Crystal. Maybe today would surprise her after the shoe discussion. It was a Wedding after all-- something that not just the bride and groom were supposed to enjoy. If Max had the choice, she’d rather be the videographer but because her and Crystal didn’t really get along, there were some choice words upon that. So, she just kept to herself on the topic. “Alright... I’m forgiven. I appreciate that. Is there something, personally, that I can do for you to make it up to you? Because we do not need her stressing anymore and I don’t have anything else to do until she comes back from fitting into her dress. Grab some Starbucks? Want me to bedazzle your shoes so they aren’t tacky?” Max emphasized with a small grin, finally looking back up at Nathalie. 

After a long day at work, she just wanted to leave work and relax. She had done overtime, and while she enjoyed Starbucks, she was just glad to be out of there. Working with a new employee, you could never expect what type of personality could walk through that door-- and Max usually had an open mind. That was, until shit hit the fan, and it involved her boyfriend. Apparently it was the wrong day to get asked to be picked up and head out for some dinner while she had the night off now. With a heavy sigh from her lips, Max looked down to compose herself before looking back at Oliver. “Don’t be sorry. It’s not your fault, you had every right to assume why I would pick his side. But I have no problem if your opinion is different than mine, babe.” She said, stroking his arm with her hand, affectionately. Her words attempted to be reassuring even if it didn’t help, but she didn’t like fighting or confrontation so she dropped the situation, and zipped up her jacket. “Oh, I most definitely am. Thank you for coming to my rescue. Where are we headed?” Max asked, giving a little smile while she took his hand. It was a nice touch to calming down, and well, she was a very affection and gentle woman, so she liked it.

“I can’t believe I’m graduating soon. It feels like yesterday I just started my program,” Max admitted, with a little worry in her tone. Why? Because she knew she couldn’t work at Starbucks forever. Usually the girl was pretty relaxed, calm and stress-free, but this did catch her off guard because time passed too quickly for her liking. Of course, there was an option to go back to school to do other programs, but she loved doing videography and who knew what sort of jobs really could be out there? Was she even that good to get a job revolving around videography except her online presence? “I don’t know what to do with myself. Maybe I have to just focus on the last few weeks of classes before graduation, and then figure it out?” She chuckled a bit, looking up at the other, with doe eyes. Max was worried, though she was young. It was just the fear of the unknown that fogged her brain.
