Maverinity is a gender quality typically used to describe the maverique experience as well as other unambiguous, autonomous outherinities with a maverique-like quality. It exists entirely independent of masculinity, femininity, neutrality, and anything in between while also not being genderless - instead being defined by a strong inner conviction of gender beyond governance.

Below are maverinities separated into distinct categories based on their various aspects. Maverinities refer to all maverine and maverine-adjacent genders, qualities, aspects, alignments, orientations, and even gender presentations. They also include non-maveriquine maverine genders and genders resembling maveriquinity.

The Categories

Reframed maverinities: Maverinities that take existing gender concepts and reshape them (recontextualization.) For example: A maverique might consider themself to be androgynous, which is an ordinous quality, but they might see their androgyny as something new and autonomous - in no way comparable to the binary but may resemble binarity in some way.

Below are identities that are maverinities that can reframe genders and other qualities, but this is not a universal constant for all maverine folks. Instead, these may simply be seen as combinations of genders and qualities without the intent to reframe them. Identities that can be described as “maverinely [quality]” or “[quality] in a maverine way” will always be included in this category.

Examples of Reframed Maverinity Terms:

Asteresque (reframing neutrality, in some cases)

Sarosique (reframing androgyny)

Veribinary (reframing the binary)

Verache (may be seen as a subset of veribinary)

Drogyrique (androgynously maverique)

Maversculine (maverinely masculine)

Blueberry transmaverine (reframing feminine presentation)

Mulberry transmaverine (reframing masculine presentation)

Teakettler (resembling masculine, feminine, androgynous, or neutral presentation)

Para-maverinities: Maverinities that separate themselves from categories they might fall under if they weren’t autonomous (disidentification.) For example: A man might consider themself maverine because their manhood is seen as “other” and not masculine, feminine, or neutral nor can it be contained by binary concepts (though it may also exist beyond even nonbinarity or abinarity.)

The distinction between para-maverinities and reframed maverinities is subtle: Para-maverinities are a way to say “I know I technically fall within this gendered category, but I refuse to consider my gender as such because of its autonomous nature.” The refusal is the distinction. For reframed maverinities, there is not a refusal but a reshaping: “Yes, my gender falls within this category, but I define it in my own way within the context of maverinity.”

Examples of Para-maverine Terms:

Malemavric (one’s gendered sense is independent of malehood)

Femalemavric (one’s gendered sense is independent of femalehood)

Circa-maverinities: Maverinities that exist near a given concept or that can be compared to such, but are otherwise distinct (centrigenders and proximal genders.) For example, proxveri is a gender that is very near maverinity, but exists as its own distinct gender. Alignments may also fall within this category.

Examples of Circa-maverine Terms:

Proxveri (close to maverinity or maveriquinity)

Maveresque (“maverique-like”)

Circamaverine (moves around maverinity)

Centraut (generally maverine and centrine)

All other centrinities - angiverin, mavilya (YB3), mavautre, neutrautonome, etc.

Mavrifaen (adjacent to femininity)

Mavrimaen (adjacent to masculinity)

Homaverique (in between male and maverique)

Femaverique (in between female and maverique)

Mavouthrainic (one’s maverinity moving closer to and farther from neutrality)

Renexaen (abinarily androgynous)

Verinesquine - includes all maverine proximities and alignments

Denebian (maverine-aligned)

Gallinian (maverine-aligned but not maverique-aligned)

Damocloidian (maverine-aligned)

*Aridedian, despite being an alignment, is not included here. It is an alignment to maveriquehood but not maverinity.

Solusinities: Maverinities that are combined with other gender qualities. These maverinities are not meant to reframe the qualities that make them up, but are simply combinatory identities. These also include solugenders - genders (not qualities) resulting from the combination of maverinity and other qualities. These do not include combinations of two maverine genders: Solusinity must be a combination of maverinity and a non-maverine quality (minus xenity, which will be included in a different category below.)

Some multigender maverine identities only sometimes fall within this category depending on the factors that make them multigender. For example, miaverique is a masculine multimaveriquinity but it is not explicitly stated to be the combination of masculine and maverine. However, faeverique and faunverique may be seen as solusine if the individual wishes to use those terms in that way.

Examples of Solusine Terms:

Mavilya (theoutherlings) (maverine + ilyagine)

Mavericene (maverine + epicene)

Ouverine (outherine + maverine)

Firthaverique (feminine + masculine + maverine, only in some cases) 

Sarosverique (androgynous + maverine, only in some cases)

Faeverique (feminine + maverine, in some cases)

Faunverique (masculine + maverine, in some cases)

Axio-maverinities: Maverinities that are not part of the other categories and not defined in any other way. These also might not even fall within outherinity, aporinity, or abinarity and instead are distinct from any other categories and qualities. One could describe them as ineffaline if they are first removed from outherinity.

Xiaspec maverinities ended up in this category despite the fact that they are typically combinations of maverinity and another aspect - in this case it’s xenity, which places these identities beyond the scope of typical gender categorizations and makes them incomparable to other genders.

Final Thoughts

One’s experience with maverinity will vary depending on many factors and due to the autonomous nature of maverinity, it may be unreasonable to expect these maverinities to stay restricted to their respective categories. Many of them may overlap or combine with multiple categories, while others may exist to defy even this model. As with many other gender topics, this is simply a new idea for people to consider when exploring the possibilities of maverinity rather than a strict model that maverinities must sort themselves into.
