Angels of Fate (Part 1)

I started to type out longass descriptions for them, and got exhausted by it. So here's some. Facts.

Catilus:

Gun Angel

Rotary-Canon can shoot bullets or fire. Or whatever else Cat wants it to. Its powered by his wings see.

Big Soldier boy, gruff and tough. Good sense of humor though.

Married to Nautilis

Assigned to their ship during battle, that's how they met.

Maundevir's first friend

Nautilis:

Space-Ship's Captain. Bcuz Angels have Space-ships. Bcuz I said so.

Unsure if it's a Star Wars situation or more of a Treasure Planet thing. Either way, Naughty runs a warship and absolutely wrecks shit with their anchor.

They exist coz I thought it'd be fun for an angel to just. Wrecking-Ball things with an anchor.

He/They

Catilus and Nautilis are part of the (particularly small) militant branch of Itherael's Aspect of Fate. Outside of battle though, Nautilis catalogues star charts and maps routes to distant worlds. Catilus mostly either goes with them, or hangs around the library with Maundevir. He's mostly posted as a guard when not actively killing things, and is also usually bored out of his mind by this.

Maundevir:

Itherael's small pathetic son-boy.

Son in the sense that during a public lightsong, for some reason an angel was born that is distinctly resonant with the Angel of Fate. If Maundy were born earlier, they might've been considered more sibling-coded, but something about the twang in their chords makes them more of a parent-child type relationship.

Not that this matters a whole lot to either of them.

Really bad at using a sword.

Even worse at using anything else.

At least with a sword they can just point the pointy end and pray.

Pretty good at organizing the library, at least.

Friendly for an angel. Watch out though Catilus will stomp out anything he decides Maundy's stupid innocent ass shouldn't be hanging around with.

It's not that he's a danger to himself and society or anything, he just kinda sucks at being an angel so Itherael squirreled him away somewhere he wouldn't get like. Punched to death or eaten or whatever. They just worried about his safety, in general. Never let it be said that Itherael doesn't care for their own angels.

They can hold a sword, and that's about it. Little bit of teleport. Little bit of scrying, they can organize the shelves as long as someone else tells them how they want it.

Itherael has given them every job they could come up with to test out, and while Maundevir hasn't done a terribly, they also weren't doing great y'know? Most angels are well-oiled, efficient cogs in the Heaven machine. Stick em in the right slot, and they go-go-go.

Maundevir doesn't really have a slot, is the issue. Working theory is that they're some kind of redundancy, an 'oops, Illadriel is dead and we're waiting on a replacement, uhhh somebody needs to get down to the archives and start sorting before the backlog consumes the desk' angel. Jack of all trades, master of none. Substitute teacher, but for Fate, in general.

Nautalis fights with an anchor on a really long chain, bcuz of course he does.
