The Batman Parte 2 promete surpreender os fãs com uma ambientação totalmente nova. Por conta da proximidade temporal com a série O Pinguim, o novo filme de Matt Reeves pode ser o primeiro live-action do Cavaleiro das Trevas em 35 anos a mostrar a neve e o frio de Gotham. Além disso, o clima gelado pode abrir caminho para o temido Sr. Frio. A confirmação da cronologia de The Batman Parte 2 trouxe uma revelação empolgante. A história acontecerá apenas algumas semanas após o final da minissérie O Pinguim. Essa decisão, portanto, pode ser crucial para criar uma das ambientações mais originais já vistas no cinema do herói. Na narrativa, a série da HBO termina por volta de 4 de dezembro de 2024. Com isso, o caminho fica livre para que a sequência estrelada por Robert Pattinson explore um Batman em pleno inverno. Dessa forma, a trama pode se desenrolar durante as festas de fim de ano e o Ano Novo em Gotham, o que traria uma atmosfera única e visualmente marcante. O Max finalmente revelou a data de estreia de Pinguim, spin-off de The Batman e estrelado por Colin Farrell.

Em entrevista ao podcast Variety's Award Circuit, Collin Farrel confirmou que a produção terá 8 episódios.

“Será uma coisa de oito partes em torno da ascensão de Oz ao poder, preenchendo o vácuo de poder criado quando [Carmine] Falcone foi morto"; disse Colin.

"A ideia de Matt era que a série do Pinguim começasse cerca de uma semana após o final do filme do Batman. E se funcionar, se a trajetória for interessante, o público apostar nisso e fizermos nosso trabalho direito, o segundo filme continuará onde o programa da HBO terminará”, disse Colin falando onde a série se encaixaria na linha do tempo de Matt.

Vale ressaltar que James Gunn e Peter Safran falaram sobre o novo DCU e todos os seus projetos. Apesar do Batman de Matt Reeves não estar na linha oficial do DCU, a sequencia foi confirmada, assim como as séries Penguin e Arkham.

O elenco conta com Colin Farrell, Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, David H. Holmes, Michael Kelly, Rhenzy Feliz, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deidre O'Connell, Dylan Clark, Lauren LeFranc, Clancy Brown, Michael Zegen, James Madio, Scott Cohen e Cristin Milioti, que foi anunciada no ano passado como a intérprete de Sofia Falcone, protagonista feminina da série. O projeto conta com Colin Farrel como produtor executivo ao lado de Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark e Lauren LeFranc, e com a direção de Craig Zobel.

Segundo a Variety, a trama vai mostrar a personagem de Cristin e de Colin Farrell, que após a morte de Carmine, ficam em pé de guerra pelo controle do crime em Gotham. A história vai se passar pouco tempo após o fim do filme, com a cidade ainda lidando com os efeitos da inundação causada pelo Charada.
