Synopsis:
When Zouken approached him about one of his daughters, he knew what to do.
Rin and Sakura had equal potential, but Rin showed signs of being a prodigy, and had an affinity to the five elements. She would have been the perfect child for him to teach.
That was why his first choice was Sakura. Her affinity for imaginary numbers would have made her a more difficult student.
But Zouken requested Rin instead. The Matou’s magecraft used the water element, and Sakura’s element wasn’t compatible.
Rin however, was a perfect match.

"So do you want to go back to being Tohsaka Rin?" Hakuno asked.
"Hm. Neither Matou nor Tohsaka feel right to me." Rin tapped her pen against the table, she then glanced at Hakuno. "Emiya Rin doesn't sound half bad."
Hakuno dropped her pen.
"E-E-E-Emiya?!" Hakuno stuttered. She must have broken the world record for the fastest blush. "You mean-"
"Your dad is a nice guy so-"
"YOU WANT TO MARRY MY DAD?"
"I WAS ABOUT TO SAY THAT HE COULD ADOPT ME!" Rin slapped the back of Hakuno's head before her small brain could reach worse conclusions.
"Wait! You can't ask him to adopt you!"
"Why not?"
Hakuno grabbed her shoulders and stared at her, pleading. "If you do that, we'll become siblings! And I won't be able to ma-" Hakuno paused. "We can't get marr-" she paused again. "M-Marri-"
Rin raised an eyebrow. Hakuno was becoming redder with each attempt.
"Once we're both old enough! I'll make you Emiya Rin!" Hakuno blurted out and looked away.
Woah, smoke was coming out of her ears. She was overheating.
"Oh? How so?"
"Homework!" Hakuno let her go. "We have to finish homework!"
"Finish your sentence, Hakuno." Rin stared at her, challenging her.
Hakuno stared back. She needed to play dumb.
"Who is Hakuno?"

On a bit of a drawing kick so I thought I’d present my designs for Rin Matou and Sakura Tohsaka from my roleswap AU fic.
Rin’s design borrows various elements from the outfits of her older selves. She accents some of her clothes in the Tohsaka red as a small rebellion against Zouken, but of course unbeknownst to her this actually makes her look more like the false Grail... sorry Rin.
Sakura is dutifully wearing the outfit Kirei gave her for her birthday instead of passing it on to Saber like the original Rin did, but she’s still got the pink cardigan that Taiga gifted her, since she’s still a close friend of Shirou’s.
So yea this is like my own little head canon as to what happen in Heaven’s Feel Route. Specifically Sparks Liner High ending as I feel its kinda an open ending?
Anyways a little bit of explanation as to what happen here and yes the grail is now tempting Rin in the form of Sakuraaa
I though of two possible scenarios
1.) She made the wish. Its probably something along the line of saving her sister or wanting to redo things again. Since she killed Sakura in this comic and is probably the most traumatic thing she’s done she is that desperate into using the grail. The servants are release and assuming that they all assimilate into Ilya her body may have broken down and is now acting as the cup to hold the content. So the grail there ready to grant a wish. Now as soon as the wish is granted Angra Mainyu will be born into the world and we can’t have that XD . So this is where the Jewel sword comes into the play. (please bare with me jdsfjksdf)
The jewel sword allows the user the ability to wield the second magic which is The Operation of Parallel Worlds. Its also known to govern over things that involve time travelling as well. So in order for the grail not to take the wish and improvise on the method on how to bring it to form. Rin uses the Grail with the Jewel Sword to reverse time up to the point before Sakura was given away. ( also because time is reverse it should delay Angra Mainyu’s birth once again)
Her wish to save her sister would be for Rin to take her place  to be given away.
2.) For the second one pretty much follows the first scenario but in the event that Angra Mainyu does get born into the world . Everything is fucked and Rin’s last attempt was to use the jewel sword to create an opening to transfer her memories to her other self in Fate Zero hoping that that information it will compel her to take Sakura’s place.
