Please enjoy a new blog post about 2017 Fellow Award Honoree Cleve Moler. This year CHM honors American mathematician and inventor of the MATLAB numerical computing environment, Cleve Moler. Moler created the original MATLAB program, short for “Matrix Laboratory,” while at the University of New Mexico as a quick calculator for his students doing basic matrix operations. Today MATLAB is no longer a single program but a platform and an ecosystem used by millions of scientists and engineers around the world. Its maker, MathWorks, has 4,000 employees in two dozen cities and Moler serves as Founder and Chief Mathematician at the company. http://www.computerhistory.org/atchm/cleve-moler-mozart-of-the-matrix/
MathWorks, the leading developer of mathematical computing software for engineered systems, announced new Hardware Support Packages.
MathWorks has launched new Renesas Electronics hardware support packages for MATLAB and Simulink, enabling automotive and industrial engineers to rapidly prototype, deploy, and validate embedded systems directly on Renesas RH850 and RA microcontrollers. The integration streamlines Model-Based Design workflows with automated code generation, flashing, and on-hardware execution — accelerating EV motor control, ADAS, robotics, and industrial automation development while reducing manual integration effort and time-to-market.
