Posted @withregram • @ok_payroll Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) Let’s start by looking at whether or not the employee qualifies for SMP. They need to tick 3 boxes: 1. Have they worked long enough for you? The employee needs to have been working for you for 26 weeks in to the qualifying week (which is 15 weeks before the baby is due) 2. Do they earn enough to qualify? The employee must have earned a minimum average of £120 a week or £520 a month. 3. Have they provided evidence of pregnancy?
