The light from the plate sun filters into the church through the hole destiny thrust through the roof of the abandoned church, illuminating the dust and debris around the flower bed that grew through the cracks in the foundation. Each bloom is opportunistic, their leaves and petals having turned towards the light in the past few days, soaking it in.
Sheās knelt before the flowers, tending to them, when the door to the church slamsĀ open, shutting just as quickly as it had opened, sending a gust of wind to rustle the flower bed that didnāt come from above, and she glances up as hectic footsteps make their way into the church, ducking behind the cover of a collapsed pew before she can get them in her sight.
Wiping the dust of the floor from her hands on her knees, Aerith doesnāt bother to rise-- the stranger hasnāt brought anyone unwanted... yet.Ā āYou donāt have to hide in here,ā She announces to the air, though thereās definitely a set of ears listening. A livingĀ set of ears.Ā āAt least, not from me.ā
