" the word came with a small laugh. brows lifting as she turned more fully in their direction. she was the kind of person that walked into abandoned buildings for fun. the kind of person that heard a noise in the dark and immediately went to investigate it.. not exactly spooked by any kind of challenge. the knock never came. not that cooper would've heard it over the music bleeding through the walls anyway. one boot was propped up on the coffee table. half a bottle of wine sat abandoned somewhere near his foot. his phone buzzed intermittently beside him with messages he had no intention of answering. probably management. maybe one of the guys. maybe someone he'd forgotten he'd given his number to three cities ago. all equally unimportant. the dressing room door swung open. his attention lifting immediately, simply stared at them. not alarmed or even annoyed. if anything, mildly entertained. brows raising as he took in the unexpected company. " well. " the word dragged out slowly. " either you're very lost or very confident.
