So you get injured. It's 3 weeks out from NSW Strongest Man and the injury means you have no chance to compete. You have that period of frustration and disbelief, even sadness, that all of the work, every weight you've lifted, every meal you've forced fed yourself to hit your calorie intake, every late night and early morning to get your session in, has now been for nothing. Then you get that focus and drive back. You think about the next comp YOU have and think about what YOU need to do. But this is a club. This is strongman. This is @coalcitystrongman ! We are here for each other! Injured or not, you get your butt to the gym and you push your team mate. Tonight, with a planned 90kg x 3 on his program, I went in to push @kiwilee_strongman in HIS prep for NSW Strongest Man. With his 90kg set of 3 done easily, we pushed him for 1 more. Then on to a new PB 100kg Axle Press. He had a 4 stone series on his program, but with limited weight and some max effort in time events at NSWSM, we went for a 1 min, max reps on our only decent heavy stone, the 95kg. Pushing through for 8 reps in 1 minute. This is why even in an individual sport, team mates are invaluable. Even in a team like ours at @massnutritionraymondterrace and @massnutritioncessnock , we come from different disciplines of the fitness industry, but as team mates, encourage, motivate and support each other to achieve.
