Listen, I can't sit on this absolute stunning piece of obsession over Alec Baldwin. If nothing else, Leo Helmar has done an incredibly detailed deep dive into all the insanity up and down that Baldwin has managed to get into as far back as 1991. I'm not sure I can even describe the rabbit hole that landed me onto this substack, but Baldwin is the epitome of Massapequa, man. And Massapequa men continue to behave this way, this complete entitlement with an undercurrent of violence, even without the benefits of celebrity. It's just this "you are not serving me completely, entirely, without question and so I will punch your face in and be proudly and loudly bigoted and there's nothing you can do about it" thing that is par for the Massapequa course.

I wouldn't call it a terror timeline, but it's definitely a "bad behavior, I can do what I want, I'm completely entitled and I will suffer little to no consequence".... timeline. One that a very loud majority of Massapequa Men, and lots of women too now, absolutely embody. Maybe a lot of Long Island is like this? Maybe a lot of New York State outside of the city? It's the absolute worst of humanity and it's been emboldened since the first reign of DJT and it's just gone all haywire since the second.

Massapequa continues to sue NYS to prevent the relinquishment of the School District Mascot. The Chiefs. They are on social media using violent, misogynistic language threatening the governor for taking away "their identity". Middle and Upper Middle Class White people on Long Island losing their "Chiefs" identity. Let that bullshit sink in.

They've been on notice for years that this was going to happen. They started the discussion in 2001, accelerated in 2010 and it became official in the last few years. All school districts in NYS, save 13, simply agreed that being a dick about Native American imagery was olde school.. and they just made the change. We know better, we do better. Not Massapequa. Massapequa is the top asshole dog. The school board went crazy, the town lost its marbles, it became a very high priority. 'They can't do this to us! We are chiefs, they can never take that away from us.' Have mercy, the irony of this bigotry.

School board members and local politicians have gone on Fox News, they were interviewed and written up in The New York Post (never a finer paper), they have sued the state, multiple times, because "once a chief always a chief". How about, you were never chiefs. Well, me and my far-left woke agenda... I just can't understand not wanting to trivialize actual people and cultures, and turn them into mascots. What in the absolute fuck.

Of course reading about Baldwin's behavior brought this controversy right to mind. His dad was a teacher in the district, after all. And he and his brothers still do stay connected to the town in many ways. This was their literal stomping ground, I'm sure as "stompy" as they continue to be as notorious, wealthy adults. And it's this hateful in your face bullshit that Baldwin embodies that is still ever present in Massapequa. This 'I have a right to be vile, and bigoted and flout every convention, waste everyone else's money and time and it's YOU! You're the bad guy.' It's their absolute conviction that what they want and how they want it is LAW.
