EXTRA, EXTRA, Red Death Dies of Embarassment!!
Ok so imagine if Christine’s masquerade dress didn’t stand out or everyone was wearing a similar fashion…. (think of that Halloween when everyone and their mom’s dentist’s dog dressed as Harley Quinn)
Plus the fact that dude spends all day in his dark ass sewer cave lair and is prob dazzled by all the lights…
Bonus: Who wore it better? Christine or Bassoonist #3
“Why so silent?”
~ Dame Gillian Lynne the Original choreographer for Phantom of the Opera has passed away. Her legacy is too vast to cite here - beginning as a ballerina with Sadler's Wells Ballet - but her genius will be more alive than ever with each performance ...
Addendum (A Thank You)
And so, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, we reach the end of our story. And the story was different for us all. Some this night found themselves in the firm grasp of vice. Others engaged the struggles, seeking bragging rights or glory. Others still found home in the embrace of clarity, and all the release of facing a sound mind.
But it matters not how your story read, for it was not your own. It belongs only to that mask upon your face, the witness to your truth, or the testament to your lie.
To some, tonight was simply a night, one of many to enjoy and flourish socially. To others, it is the essence of release, to finally be what you know yourself to be on the inside. And to some, perhaps select few, this mask was more your true self then any smile or frown you wear in your day to day life.
So we come now to our close. And with it, we all shall return once more to our other masks. The ones we wear in every day life. We hope that you shall remember the face you wore this night, and the indulgence you surrounded in.
We thank you for spending tonight with us in our world. We are The Collective, beholdant to the masks you wear, and the promises you make. You are now free to return to your lives.
As for us, we bid you a fond farewell.
For our masks are never removed.
OOC:
I know this is a few days after the event itself, but I’d be ultimately remiss if I did not make an official post in regards to the Masquerade that was held upon the 16th.
I must humble myself in absolute form and issue my sincerest gratitude to my members. Thank you, every one of you, for your assistance. Without you, it could not have been the event that it was. The amount of work that went into the event both in the face and behind the scenes was a testament to the dedications you all show to this guild and this server. Thank you for putting up with my absolute scatterbrained methods to help steer the event on proper course. Without you, none of this or anything we do would be possible.
But beyond my own people, I must again humble myself in both respect and admiration to all of you who attended, and even those who could not attend but helped to spread the word.
Events such as the Masquerade are only a success with the addition of creative characters and engaging minds, and you all brought that in spades. I took brief stints to walk among the crowds, and the level of immersion into the setting and the feel was absolutely encompassing.
Seeing everyone in their detailed masks, seeing everyone adopt aliases and truly fall into the setting, watching as you all took up the call to engage the space, some directly and others by fleshing out to the wide area and engaging each other.
It takes a lot to make me truly awestruck, but you can ask those of the Collective, at one particular point I was brought to emotion the likes of which I rarely am. And that was due to all of you of this server who, when the trivialities are boiled away, prove to me time and again that you all are some of the most creative and brilliant writers and personalities that I’ve ever had the pleasure of engaging with.
To you who are reading this, thank you for coming to the Masquerade or for promoting it. Thank you for making it the success that it was. Thank you for lending your time, your writing, and your characters to enhance the event. And thank you for showing me that this guild that I adore with all my heart truly is at home upon this server.
I remain your servant and your admirer, WrA.

Send me an Emoji and a Character and I’ll draw them in…
🎭 - An outfit/costume for a masquerade ball
A dapper dog boi
AU probably where Sango and Miroku convince Inuyasha to go to a masquerade ball so he can safely talk to his crush Kagome again, but even with the mask disguising him he’s still nervous about being in public
Btw: His hair is in a low-ponytail behind him, and his mask is indeed based on his full-demon-mode look o3o
I stole a few screenshots of my own of the vice room as we were letting people in. ;)
