      sobriety was something mason wasn’t acquainted with in this very moment . he’s high on cocaine , tipsy too , but it’s not new with mason . yet , instead of his usual choice , the devil’s lettuce , he’s gone for a powder created by the angels themselves . he halts next to an all too familiar figure , the music in the background not particularly being his cup of tea . “ i’d much rather be in the bronze , honestly .  ” was it insulting for him to be telling her that ?? more so considering her family had helped in organising this event ?? “  not to be rude or anything , but i’m already a bit fed up with the champagne .  ” it would explain why he’s taking  a swig of his flask , filled with limoncello - he’s grown so distant with her over the years , and while at times he felt guilty , what else was he meant to do ?? “  you good ??  ”

           if there’s anyone that would tell him the truth , it’s her . he hasn’t heard anything from the higher ups yet , whether it’s for their leader , or their right hand - it almost felt as if everyone was simply left in the dark . if there’s anything he needed to know , she’d be the one to tell him . “  beatrice , thanks for meeting me .  ” maybe it’s strange , to be so close to the same lake victoria higgings had been found in - but the woods seemed like the safest place to meet where no one would overhear - besides , after realising her sister , ryot , was at home - he’d rather meet somewhere else regardless . he walks with her , steps slow as branches crack beneath his combat boots , the sound of the birds chanting filling the quiet atmosphere . “  the last thing i want is .  .  . for you to get pissed at me if i ask you this question - i don’t mean for it to be insulting in any way - ” a nervous laugh escapes him , hand lifting only for his digits to run through his short curls - “  but .  .  . do you know if your brother is behind the murders ?? i mean - if he sent anyone to well .  .  . do all of that . ” there’s always a chance for her brother to have lied to his face . was it bad that he didn’t trust his own leader ??

      whether he had the right to talk to the other , he’s unsure . of course that the reason why mason and the mancini brothers didn’t share a bond was him , and his own shitty decisions . deciding to walk from their life - he doesn’t hesitate , didn’t seem to give a shit when he made the choice to abandon his siblings . yet he moves to stand in front of his youngest sibling anyways , he’s as high as a fucking kite anyway , so if anything were to go wrong , he’d at least always have the chance to blame it on that . he licks his lips , gaze briefly flickering to his sibling as he brings the glass of champagne up to his lips , nails scratching at the corner of his jaw . “  haven’t seen yo in a while . ” he has to start somewhere , there’s nothing else he can do than to be polite . “  how uh .  .  . how are things ??  ”

        and he’s heading out of the bianchi mansion , right after that argument he’s had with ryot . surely , he hadn’t expected things to go the way they did at all . mason had come here , with the idea of talking to lucian in mind , finding out who the hell was behind those murders - if it had anything to do with the alliance - and instead , he’s leaving with nothing , but a bad fucking mood . on his way out however , he spots goldie , stops  himself from leaving just yet , to talk to her . maybe like this he’d calm down ( or forget the fact that he’d in other terms been called a druggie ) , but whatever the case is - he needs a distraction . he’s not oblivious to what he does , snorting lines of angelic white powder , and swallowing pills that would shove him into a different galaxy , on a regular basis -but an addict ?? he wasn’t one . “  goldie ,  ” nickname rolls off his tongue delicately , the corners of his lips twitching as he gazes at the younger femme , but he motions for her to come closer - “  you up for going on a walk , or somethin’ ??  ” a simple way of taking his mind off of everything - and well , catching up with her too .

          he’s here to talk to lucian , - perhaps he’d get the answers he’s looking for . it’s that simple , him asking his boss a simple question , a way for him to be able to figure out who was behind those murders , had he sent out orders to commit the murder ?? was it all just a strategic move to get control over the city hall ?? mason was unsure , but answers were something he needed . it’s why he’s walking into the bianchi mansion , hands stuffed into the pockets of his sweatpants - it’s already an off sight seeing him walk around this part of the town , and while he knew the mansion could be considered a home to those working in the alliance , he still felt odd . he walks into the office of lucian , - calls out his name as he enters the male’s office , only to see an all too familiar femme standing there . it’s not something he expects , not at all - it comes as a shock , obvious as he remains mute - for just a moment , silence seems to fill the room . “  uh .  .  . ryot - ” he’s unsure what to say , it’s been years since he’s seen her really , things between them hadn’t ended in the best of terms , but they’re both completely different people now , almost like strangers . “  i didn’t know you were .  .  . in the city .  ” but would it make a difference if he did ?? he’d most likely end up avoiding her at all costs . that’s the truth . “  well uh - d’you know where lucian is at ?? i needed to - uh - talk to him about something .  .  . ”
