In the five years post snap you could’ve built up several characters. You could’ve established Sam More as a leader but instead you pushed Captain Carter and made her the face of what was basically the Captain America mantle. You gave Sam a mediocre movie and you let the young avengers age to the point where they were no longer young. There’s nothing young about those avengers. They’re in their 30s.

Of course they couldn’t have predicted what was going to happen with Kang the conqueror, but that was someone who could’ve been recasted if we’re so honest instead we have a rip off non-Romani Dr. doom who probably isn’t even going to center around the fantastic four and instead it’s just going to center around Steve Rogers, the shirt guy.

Definitely not the first Captain America fan to have this opinion, but I just feel like when it comes to reading his comics or comics that he’s in I feel like when compared to older comics I’m not really seeing his relationships like I used to and that makes him very boring to me at times.

Personally, in my ideal world, Peter and MJ are married. Peter is currently working as a teacher part time photographer, and occasional superhero, I’m not saying that Peter has to stop being Spiderman, but I feel like by not allowing him to mature past relationship drama, or at least expanding upon it in a meaningful way you eliminating more stories that could be told.

I’m definitely not the first Spiderman Fan with this thought and I’m definitely not going to be the last but I just think Peter Parker deserves better as a character and I just think it would be really interesting to see more stories with him as a teacher permanently and how that really affects his role as a superhero and what conflicts he may deal with because of this.

His solo comics often have such a drastic tone from the rest of Marvel, and they almost always make him more competent than he is in the rest of the Marvel universe. There’s a dissonance when you have Punisher comics acting like he’s the scariest man alive, but it becomes very clear where he actually stands when other Marvel characters meet him. Moon Knight can do everything Frank does but better.

And that dissonance leads to folks who are like “well Frank just has that guts to do what needs to be done. This of course ignores that within superhero fiction, killing normal people (not, like, demons) in crime-fighting indicates both a moral weakness and lack of skill. Captain America and Spider-Man solve the same problems Punisher does, but without murdering.

Like imagine just getting introduced to more niche Marvel characters or more niche avengers and just getting more TV shows for the universe but instead it was short-lived and got replaced by MCU synergy slop. I am completely honesty. Would it even want a reboot of EMH just because I know it would get turned into synergy slop.
