They’ve come so far, I think I’m gonna cry. From Hide being told to stay in the back and learn a few things from Maru, to now having gotten to the point where they both trust and rely on each other for tactical support on an equal level.
It’s like they each trust the other’s intuition and judgement as much as they do their own, and I can’t think of an instance where they’ve challenged or argued about which course of action to take. Hide tells Maru about a plan he just came up with on the spot? Done. No questions asked. He just wishes him good luck, and it’s the same vice versa. They have got to be my favourite duo in the manga at the moment.
The only ending I'll accept is Kaneki and Hide reuniting, confesing how important they are for each other and living happily ever after with Marude and Ken bickering over who loves Hide more. Amon and Akira together being badasses, Shuu finding someone who loves him the most, Nishio being happy and suave with Kimi ofc, Mucchan and the quinx kids being a loving family, Hina with Ayato being as close as ever, Rize kicking Furuta's ass, Seidou and pets... just pets. Long story short, just happiness over all for the characters I love.
P.S I need an epilogue where it turns out Arima and Eto were chillin in Hawai the whole time
Hide: “Dad, what did the tomato say to the slower one?”

Hide: “Nothing, because tomatoes can’t speak”
