hey dude I just wanted to say that ever since I discovered your account I’ve been drawing like nobody’s business working on shadow/form/lighting and you’ve just like massively inspired me with your art. I’m a working comic and tattoo artist and I haven’t felt a growth period like this in a long time and it’s largely in thanks to the art you share, so just wanted to give you your flowers and say thank you for doing what you do!!! (Also I absolutely adore your chreon arts, they blew a hole through my heart!!!)
this message is the second best thing that happened to me this week, my guy. first place is taken by my traumatised dog being a good boy at the vet’s. i’ve been feeling like a complete wreck lately and this made me feel so much better, you have no idea. i wish you all the best with your projects and art! and thank you so much.
this one is for you, anonymous king/queen 💐
have you ever done a documentation of your process with painting fabric?? it looks so seamless ur contrast of hard and soft edges, as iconic as leyendecker
hi! i doubt i’m as iconic as Leyendecker, but thank you anyway :D
here’s a video for you:
hi! i've been wondering if maybe there's a possibility that you could bless us with an extended version of the happy memory piece from your "and if you only hold me tight" chreon post? love your art soo much! <3
i’ll bless you with it as soon as it’s finished, i pinky promise <3 here’s the proof of its existence:
Hi! Are there any artists who have had a particularly strong influence on your art/artstyle? I'm in love with your art, and have been wondering how has it developed over the years and what has influenced it. Sorry if the question was asked before
hi! i had a hard time answering this one. here are some thoughts on who and what influenced me as an artist:
1. the artstyle of Dishonored games;
i discovered this artpiece by Sergey Kolesov years before i discovered Dishonored itself. i just saw this online as a roughly 18 years old college student and thought 'i don't know what this is all about and i don't know if this is a woman or a man but they're sexy and i don't care and i wanna draw like that'. i open the Dishonored 2 artbook more often than any other book in my house, just to look at it and feel something. i never tried to copy the artstyle of the games or the artists that created them explicitly, but it gives me a lot of motivation to create in general.

2. the art of Dmitri Zhilinsky;
the artist that probably influenced me the most is Dmitri Zhilinsky. it's an another story of why and how, really. i showed his art to a friend that didn't know who he was recently, and they said 'yeah, that makes total sence’. here's an example, 'USSR Gymnasts', 1961:
3. set design as a career path;
before i went to study set design, i was one of the worst students in my class when it came to creating a composition, if you can believe this. two years of hanging out at the university of cinematography gave me an insane boost. i never finished it, but i'll forever be grateful for what it gave me. it just kicked my butt so much that i started thinking of space in an art piece in an entirely different way. here's a trick, for example: if you're creating an art that takes place in a room, and the scene only shows three walls out of four, just pretend the fourth wall doesn't exist. just fucking break it down in your head and look into the room from right where the wall used to be, or from behind it. it gives the scene more space. gives you an opportunity to put something in the first plan. here:
4. people often tell me my artstyle reminds them of J. C. Leyendecker, but he's never been an actual influence on me. pretty sure i didn't know he existed until around five years ago.
5. not exactly in the sense of an art style, but more in a way of thinking, Moebius deserves a solid mention. i often find my brain stuck in one way or the other, brewing with some old boring ideas i'm already tired of, and it only takes one or two pieces from Moebius to remind me that anything is possible.
there must be something else, but i can't really think of anything. hope this somewhat answered your question :)

How on earth do you get your soft edge/sharp edge balance so good??? Do you use a brush with tilt? An eraser? On the vehicle in the comic you've just posted, I've stared at this part:
for a reasonable (lol) length of time trying to figure it out. The crisp edge is so crisp and the soft edge is so believable
Cat tax
hey!
here i use the brush with sharp left and soft right edges. i tilt the image to put the right edge where it should be and draw in big solid stripes. the brush is called “knife oily” in rebelle 7.
here’s the timelapse:
and thanks for the cat c:
Me, coming back on a monthly, if not weekly basis to gaze upon your Dishonored art.
