Below is an interview with Lei Jun, CEO and co-founder of Xiaomi with the WSJ: Q: Xiaomi has achieved many accomplishments, but also faces many challenges. So what is the biggest challenge for the company?

A: First, we are faced with too high expectations of everyone, both inside and outside the company. We used to grow larger than 7 times in just one year. However, in the context of global economic turmoil, in the first half of 2015, achieving 33% growth Xiaomi. However, everyone said: “The speed of development is so fast enough yet.” This is ridiculous. We stayed just a startup 5 years old. Our expectation is too great . Just 5 years ago, Xiaomi completely start with number 0. Currently, relieved of the burden on our shoulders and felt like I needed to win in every war. I do not think this is what the company needs. Xiaomi can still lose. What is important is the need to turn the company Xiaomi become a “power over” rather than just “to determine” in the industry of smartphones.

Because of this, instead of chasing to meet everyone’s expectations, Xiaomi should pursue its own goals. The key point is to maintain the basics include creating better user experiences and innovative products.

Second, I can confirm the business model of Xiaomi can succeed in the world, at least in a market. We will do our best to be able to succeed in these emerging markets.

Xiaomi set itself for 3 years to be in the top 3 and even No. 1 brand leading smartphone in India. In order to generate revenue, Xiaomi need to become players the biggest influence in a country or region.

For example, Xiaomi is still active in Taiwan and Hong Kong, but the population here is too little, so very difficult in online trading. The core of online activity is population. So, instead, sold for 10 or 20% of the population in India and the large countries would be better.

Overall, the challenges faced Xiaomi everyone’s expectations too high. Not to mention, all the other competitors are getting stronger also. Q: Xiaomi President Lin Bin said that in the next 5 years will be very difficult to have a breakthrough in the smartphone market. So Xiaomi will improve as yet? How to win the competition?

A: The industry smart phone is a mortal ring. Mobile phone market has always been highly competitive level top. I can not believe that now there are dozens of phone manufacturing company in China. Kick mortal might exist in about 2 to 3 years.

Xiaomi currently focused on creating the best products and double its market share. We still have many development opportunities. The more competition as beneficial by Xiaomi has the advantage of being a leader and a large scale. On the issue of innovation, creating breakthrough difficult does not mean impossible or unnecessary. There are many other things as breakthrough user experience. Previously, each aspiring Xiaomi phone manufacturers to sell for billions of users worldwide. However, this is now impossible.

You need to design different phones, for particular customer group Vietnam and in the different markets. It is difficult to create a new enhancements for all users. But improvements to the different user groups can.

Q: Can you give more details about the business model of Xiaomi is not? If you do not make a profit from the hardware, so companies make money from?

A: I have explained this issue many times. After observing how Tencent, Baidu, Google and Facebook creating their foundation, realized that Xiaomi phone can also create an online platform.

In terms of size, there are now 130 million Chinese use Xiaomi phone, or about 10% of the population. Most users are young, so we have affects approximately 20-25% of young population. They watch TV, listen to music and read books and news. Xiaomi provide all these things. It creates a huge content channels. Every day, our users use the phone 115 times and spent 4-5 hours on the phone. This is an extremely broad basis.

Q: Xiaomi has appointed two key positions in this year that the Managing Director of the intellectual property (IP) and Chief Financial Officer. Can you say more about this decision is not? Xiaomi whether intended IPO yet?

A: The former vice president of Qualcomm’s Global Wang Xiang Xiaomi joined in July this year. He is responsible for the IP. Xiaomi was time to have a formal process for this problem. Xiaomi very focused on innovation. Last year, we had applied for 2,700 patents, the figure is expected to rise to 4,000 this year.

About IPO, after 5 years we can consider this. The reason is very simple, I now buy shares of 5 companies and understand the difficulties and challenges of the IPO. I believe the next 5 years would be an appropriate time to consider this Xiaomi.

Q: Does the macroeconomic issues affecting Xiaomi it? A: Of course it does. The yuan depreciated then is the currency of India, Indonesia and Brazil also fell. If no price adjustment, we may incur losses. Fortunately, the operation of our globally are small and account for only 10% of revenue.

Sharp developing 4K LCD panels for smartphones: Report

Ahora Gsmarena.com revela que el dispositivo se llamará Samsung I9295 Galaxy S4 Active y ha mostrado algunas fotografías del supuesto terminal.

Aseguran que el Galaxy S4 Active tendrá un procesador de cuatro núcleos a 1.9GHz, que «definativamente significa que es un chip Snapdragon 600».

Las imágenes señalan que tendría las mismas dimensiones del Galaxy S4, con cámara de 8MP a diferencia de los 13MP del Galaxy S4.
