Blind Father may be the god of night and darkness but he’s actually known for being incredibly devoted and caring deeply for his wife, and she for him. I have been coming up with little folk tales and legends about them since I created them, and they’re all very sweet and wholesome.

I’m making a setting zine for Zine Quest 3 over on Kickstarter, and I just finished a lineup of the four playable species I’ll be including in it!
MarrowScar is a weird west setting with elements of fantasy, steampunk, and a light sprinkling of eldritch horror. It will be structured for d20 systems, specifically with 5e and Pathfinder in mind.
The playable species are (left to right): Heliocyx Featherfolk, Vaz Gnoll, Malachite Reach Human, Elodrum Scalefolk.
Goats, sheep, wool, leather. Chimes of bone and horn and metal scrap to warn of impending wind-storms. Thick canvas walls, central fire pits, and piles of furs for warmth. Drying herbs to season warm meat stews or make teas to fight off chills caught during the frigid winters.

A quick question regarding your nomadic Gnolls: Do they keep any livestock or herds, and if so what sort? I would imagine Goats to be quite popular, particularly if Gnolls are more carnivorous than omnivorous and need supplements to local game (not that the butter / milk would be unwelcome), though I could also imagine them either domesticating some sort of mythical creature or relying on hunting / raiding instead of shepherding themselves.
They do keep small herds of animals they bring with them, though what kind depends on which groups and where. The mountain-dwelling families tend towards goats most definitely and also sheep, while the grasslands/desert ones will also keep camels or oxen which also double to help haul stuff. The seaside gnolls don’t do much herding, but occasionally will keep poultry like a few chickens or maybe small flocks of ducks or geese. Basically things they can either fit on boats reasonably or which they can let loose to swim around and scavenge then bring back in for the night.
There’s also plenty of hunting as well as scavenging/gathering for wild plants and eggs and the like (sometimes fresh-ish carrion too, they are hyaenids after all), as well as a pretty large amount of trade. There’s a safety net built into the culture where anyone who experiences an excess of food preserves it and will send it in to trade for needed goods or to be stored for families who are in need of food (or for injured/disabled gnolls recovering/living in the capitols and more permanent settlements).
