Tears pooled at the back of Aurora's eyes but she refused to let them fall. Marie did not need to see her cry. Marie was having a hard enough time as it was and did not need Aurora breaking down on her. Being a pureblood brought this task easily to her, as a lady she was allowed no emotions most of the time so a stoic face was easy to come by. "Shhh" she whispered as she wrapped the trembling girl in a robe, Marie was always such a big strong person and seeing her so broken brought to fact that she was no bigger than Aurora. It was almost funny how such a big personality would make someone seem so different from their actual appearance. When everything was stripped away, Marie was still this fragile girl who needed to be loved and cared for and no matter their differences, Aurora was going to do that for her. If anyone knew what it felt like to hit rock bottom, it was Aurora; she knew the pain of having to push on like nothing was the matter yet struggling to live another second, it was a hard reality to face but Aurora was not about to let Marie face it alone.
Sitting Marie on a vanity stool, Aurora took a box of first aid supplies from the cabinet and began going to work fixing the various cuts on Marie's pale legs and arms. "This is going to sting a bit" she told the girl applying a bit of hydrogen peroxide to a particularly deep cut. Ten minutes later Aurora put the last bandage on Marie and looked her over to make sure she did not miss a spot. "It's okay, Marie" she cooed comfortingly as she began to comb her reddish hair with a wide toothed comb, gently pulling the tangles from the wet mane. "We will do whatever it takes to find who hurt you" Aurora promised the girl as she took to fixing the now combed hair with a brush. "They won't get away with this"
It wasn't until Aurora crouched down and looked Marie in the eyes that she nearly lost it once again. Aurora had known the girl for the last six years, Marie being only one below her, and though Aurora was not fond of many girls Marie had seemed to evade that stereotype. Never before had she judged Aurora for being pretty, nor did she partake in the rumors that normally involved the older girl. For that Aurora respected Marie and cared for her deeply. She was more of a sister than a friend when it came down to it, and it broke Aurora's heart to see her so beaten and so broken. Taking a wipe, Aurora gently began to dab the mascara stained cheeks pushing back her own tears once again "You did nothing to deserve this, Marie, you are a strong beautiful girl and don't you dare think for one second this is your fault" she told the girl, "Whoever did this is a sick, sick person and they won't get away with it. I won't allow it to happen" that was not a threat but a promise and dabbing the last bit of soiled makeup from her face Aurora saw the girl she normally recognized, however her eyes told a different story. This was not her Marie, nor would she be her Marie for some time, but instead someone who needed Aurora to be strong for her. Taking her small face between her hands, Aurora gave Marie a strong smile "I won't let this happen again, you are safe Marie and I won't stop until this man has been found".
