Always & Never | a&marley
â - Amycus Carrow could not help but to feel smug as he waited in the dark alley, his back against the cold stone wall in almost cliche fashion. The last month had been a mess, his initial betrothal falling through due to a slight indiscretion on his part. Some words were exchanged simply enough between the families but his father had been enraged; he shouldâve known well enough not to fuck things up before the marriage went through. But before he could begin enjoying life as a single man once more, his parents quickly, and stealthily, came up with a new arrangement for him. Amycus was now to marry Marlene McKinnon. Part of him was angry, of course. He had no d e s i r e to be wed to anyone at all, preferring to live his life freely. He did not excel at commitment and his parents were setting him up for failure. Even worse, this particular woman intended to make his life a living hell without his ring on her finger; she would only get worse with it there. On the other hand, there had always been something about the blonde; no matter how much she irritated him, infuriated him, he couldnât bring himself to harm her the way he could anyone else. He had always felt, since childhood, a sense of possession over her. Marlene was his - and now it was going to be official. He heard her before he saw her, the pretty witch passing by his hiding place without seeing him. The wind lifted her blonde hair, letting it drift behind her thin frame. At least he could say she was attractive; some of his friends had been auctioned off to cows. Smoothly he stepped out, following behind her. âWell, if it isnât my beautiful bride-to-be-...â A smirk danced across his lips as he tucked his hands into his pockets.

who is more likely to break a bone? itâs probably pretty even, tbh. they both do stupid stuff all the time
who knows best what to say to upset the other? theyâre good at arguing. like, really good. so they both say what they can to rile up the other person, but i think that sirius says the more hurtful things.
who is most likely to apologise first after an argument? they donât apologize so much as they end up just making out and forgetting why they argued in the first place ??
who treats whoâs wounds more often? i feel like sirius might more often? he can be a mother hen
who is in constant need of comfort? they comfort each other by way of alcohol and distraction

who is better at cheering the other up? i think that they both help each other pretty evenly
whoâs the one that playfully slaps the other all the time after they make silly jokes? marlene, because sirius is full of siriusly funny puns, lol

send me âmistle mistleâ for our muses to be caught under a mistletoe
âJingle bells, jingle bells, jingle alllll the way!â Dirk hollered at the top of his lungs, brandishing a rather large stick of candy cane at the giggling onlookers. There was a buzzing inside him that couldnât be tamed, one that had coaxed him onto Xenoâs sofa and ended up in a drunken rendition of the popular Christmas song. From his vantage point, he spotted another wild figure in the fray; a bounce of gold curls, the flourish of her dress, cheerful laughter that sparkled. Marly, Marly. As he watched, one of Marleneâs friends was creeping up on her and holding a mistletoe threateningly, making her yelp and duck away.
âHold it!â Dirk jumped off the sofa, nearly crashing into the coffee table, and caught his fleeing friend in outstretched arms, the mistletoe handler closing in. Without thinking, he gave Marlene a long, hearty kiss on her dewy lips, and then turned to the bemused crowd to shout, âMerry Christmas, you brilliant bastards!â

Lucinda had been having quite a lot of fun at the Aversio party. She had already messed with Cresswell, and so now she had calmed down a bit. However, when she saw Marlene under the mistletoe, she felt her mischievous side kick in again. She walked over to Marlene and planted a big kiss on her lips. âHey Marlene.â She said afterwords with a smile.

The common room is full to bursting- the day before Christmas break, nobody was going quietly. He had found himself squished on a one-person couch with Marlene when someone tugged on his arm, someone who gestured up to the mistletoe hanging above them and then was gone giggling back to their friends.
He looked at her, curiously. She shrugged. When they kissed it was a chaste kiss. There was the taste of the champagne theyâd been drinking, a hint of raspberry from the tarts that had been passed around the circle of couches but minutes earlier. Afterwards they found out someone had taken a picture.
âAgain?â He asks, a smile tugging on his lips as he eyes the sprig of mistletoe above them.
He answers for himself when he leans in and presses a soft kiss to her lips. Itâs fleeting, a touch barely there. But when he draws back thereâs the shadow of raspberries and champagne on his lips, a melancholic nostalgia in the taste of it that he pushes away with a smirk and a laugh. âMerry Christmas.â
