this isn't a traditional bug identification question but! a few days ago i found (what i assume to be) a spider in our kitchen, and she appeared to be missing a couple of legs on one side? i caught her and put her outside and she was alive, but is missing legs a common thing at all for spiders? :0 or were they hidden in some way? can they even survive when they're missing legs .... thank you for all the cool bugs on my dash :D
Losing legs is very common in spiders and rarely is bad enough to kill them. In fact I've seen them getting along just fine with as few as three legs. And if they have molts left in their lifetime, they can grow legs back!
