Choice Cuts **mark kurlansky** Stories, poetry, rants and more, all about food. From around the world and throughout history. One favourite is Lunching at the Automat, by Irving Berlin. It is musical number from the 1932 musical Face the Music. I also enjoy Brillat -Savarin and his take on women gourmets (foodies) ( not too mention I also have a to fondness to the cheese bearing the same name!) This excerpt from his work The Physcology of Taste (1825) tells us how he feels about women who love food, he also explains how that love of food and good eating is basically favorable to a woman's beauty! Here! Here! More woman need to hear these words! I should also mention chapter 7- Rants...this could be my absolute favourite part of this book, I love a good rant! This book has a whole chapter dedicated to them! There are rants about garlic presses, on emotions to avoid while eating and a few about waiters. This is a great book to have around the kitchen, and an interesting way to pass the time while waiting for your dough to rise.
