Markets open higher on firm note on Friday with the start of the May Future and Option series with Nifty touched around 11,700-level. The Sensex rose over 100 points through mid-morning trading hours, and the Nifty traded at 11700 levels. The domestic currency gained in early trade on Friday, higher by 16ps at 70.09 per US. Meantime, Crude Oil prices dipped today with Brent crude futures touched at USD74.00/ barrel from their last close. Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Gail India were the major contributors on Nifty50 at this point, while Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Grasim fall. Nifty Metal index rise 2.39pc with major gains in Tata Steel, Jindal Steel and JSW Steel upto 3 - 6% gains. Nifty Auto Index falls near 1% with major falls in Tata Motors, MothersonSumi, Maruti, TVS Motors. Shares of Axis bank trade higher by 1.50 percent at Rs752 per share after the Private sector lender on Thursday reported a net profit of Rs.1,50-Cr. Tata Steel trade higher by 6.25% at Rs542.65 after the company on Thursday posted a 84% drop in fiscal Q4 consolidated net profit. YES Bank, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC AMC and HDFC Life Ins. India share market benchmarks traded higher on Tuesday between gains and losses in the start. The BSE benchmark Sensex traded 140 points higher at 35,639 at 9.35am, while the NSE index Nifty-50 traded at 10,678, up 0.38-points. Early gainers were Bharti airtel, Bharti Infratel, Titan Company, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserve whereas Infosys, TCS, NTPC, Wipro and Adani Ports were trading in the red. Barring Nifty IT and Media, all the secotral indices compiled by the NSE are trading in the green. Among specific stocks, the Stock in Emami Limited trade higher 2.10-percent to 369.55 after promoters sold 10pc stake in Emami for about Rs1600crore to pare debt.  Shares of  Ambuja Cements was up 0.28 percent to Rs198.55 after the company reported rise in consolidated net profit i,e 188-percent to Rs1377.88crore.
