Nifty Opens 71 Points Lower; Vedanta was among Top Losers
Key benchmark indices were trading in the negative zone on Wednesday, on concern over US-China trade conflict. During mid-morning at around 11.15am, the Sensex lost over 229-points, at 38,047-marks, while the NSE Nifty50 was down 71-points at 11,426 levels. The BSE index was dragged by Vedanta, Reliance and Yes Bank that was down by 2%, 1.73% and 1.31% respectively. On the NSE Nifty50 stocks, index was dragged by Zee Entertainment, Vedanta, Bajaj Finserve sequentially, while major gaining stocks were PowerGrid, JSW Steel, Coal India, IOC and Titan. All the sectoral indices of the Nifty were trading in red with major falls in Nifty Media index which falls 3.44percnet, dragged by Zeel, Suns TV and TV18 Broadcast. Vedanta shares declined near 3percnt after the company reported a 45pc year-on-year falls in its net profit at Rs2,615crore for the Q4FY19.
