Macedonia by Mark O’Connor on Strength in Numbers
Cover of Nels Cline
Following up on their collaboration on The Rationale for a Space Telescope
If we want to see the effectiveness of the Lemon Law, we need look no further than the state of Connecticut. In early October 2012, the Connecticut Car Lemon Law celebrated its 30th anniversary. And it did so with some pretty impressive numbers.
Mark O'Connor is twenty-six years old and a resident of Greensville.
As far as Mark is concerned, his life began at age seven. He doesn’t remember where he came from, who his biological parents are, or even what his birth-given name was-- all of that has been forcefully blocked from his conscious mind-- but he remembers being dropped off on the doorstep of an orphanage with his baby sister, and he remembers becoming an O’Connor. After getting adopted, he blocked out all memory of his neglectful and abusive biological parents, or at least attempted to, and fully embraced his adoptive ones. George and Jacob O’Connor raised Mark and Debbie as their own, giving them all they ever could’ve asked for in life. It was George and Jacob who showed Mark kindness and compassion, who nurtured him and allowed him to realize his passion for music. While Debbie had always been curious of where they came from, Mark tried to protect her from the painful truth of what they were truly like. He was always protective of her, even well into adulthood. During his time in college, the O’Connor family gained two new members, Tynan Lawes and Miranda O’Connor (née York). Though he was never as close to them as he was to Debbie, he still felt a sense of familial love towards them. He was never able to protect Tynan and Miranda the same way he had with Debbie, as they had already faced many hardships in their lives before joining the family. However, this didn’t stop him from trying to show his support in small ways. Mark initially had difficulty finding a job after obtaining his bachelor's degree due to a combination of familial struggles, lack of available jobs, and his own anxiety, but he now works in the Artists and Repertoire department of a small record label called Resilience Records. Though he still loves playing music and writing songs, his end goal is to become a record producer. Now that the O’Connors are all adults, everything is different. He is the last of his siblings in Greensville, and he must learn how to become his own person, independent of being an O’Connor.

In 2011, there were 2.7 million vehicles up for sale online with safety recalls. These vehicles were never fixed and are hazardous to drive. Oftentimes the buyer is unaware that a recall has been issued and buys a potential time bomb. This is where Steve Mikhov and OM LLP can help in the case of a problem.
