Isn’t it ironic that these two icons of the XXth century were never addressed by the Academy, and this year, they share the spotlight with two biopics? Unfortunately Blonde is not a biopic nor a good film (actually it’s an abomination, as you may already know what i think of it) but I believe Ana de Armas did an amazing job with the poor material she was offered. She should be happy just being nominated, though. Elvis, on the other hand, is a brilliant homage to the icon, and Austin Butler may actually surprise everyone with an Oscar win.
