“You’re being a little impatient. I’m trying to set it up.” There was the slightest ghost of a smile as he finished with the projector. “Obviously they’re images so they can’t compare but these is some of the views I’ve had over the years when I’ve made trips for stargazing.” He reached for her, halting just before his hand could make contact with her shoulder. Deciding not to touch her moved to where he thought she should stand. “Just stand here to start and i’ll turn it on.” Stepping back he waited for her to move before turning the lights off and turning on the projector, projecting an image of the nights sky onto the walls around them. the image was detailed, thousands of tiny pin pricks through a dark midnight quilt. “Anyone who can look at something like this and not be in awe…”
“Wow.” Del gazed up at the display along the walls, eyes widening slightly as she took it all in. It wasn’t the first time she had seen stars but in the city they weren’t nearly as bright or clear as the projection was. The lights from the bars and streetlights had a tendency to drown them all out. Only in the outskirts could you really get a look at what the sky had to offer and even then there was often the trees to contend with so seeing that much sky? It had been next to impossible for her. Instinctively the nearly reached out to lay her hand on his arm to convey how amazed she was but stopped herself remembering he wasn’t comfortable with being touched. It was something she could only understand in the vaguest of ways but something she could respect. “It’s beautiful,” she breathed, a smile spreading across her face. “You don’t see anything like that in the city.”
