It wasn’t often that Marcus actually made it back to his… well, his native country. He was British, yes, but he was Welsh, to be more specific. Not that it was clear with his accent, considering he’d managed to “train” himself to sound less Welsh as he’d grown up (bullies loved to pick on the kids that sounded weird), but he was proud of his heritage. His actual family, a little less so, but he loved being Welsh.
Sort of like how Viggo was proud to be Russian, but was the first to point out how much of a shit-stain his father actually was. (And Marcus had to admit, his own neglectful dad looked tame next to Viggo’s.)
But now, with six kids of his own, he wanted them to see part of their own heritage. He wanted them to experience it, like he had when he was much younger. He wanted them to see where he came from, part of their heritage. They’d been to Scotland plenty of times, and though not always to see her family, they had more than enough knowledge about the country. Half of his squad were Scottish. They knew about the whole damn country at this point.
