whats the weather like and what kind of climate(s) are in Emergent?
Atlas, the massive city that most of the story takes place in, has a few different climates just because it’s so. goddang. big. I literally have no idea if it’s scientifically accurate because I haven’t had a geography class in Years, but //shrugs
The far eastern sector is fairly arid and rocky and dusty and generally not very fun (guess where the shittier part of town is). There’s a bit of an empty wasteland beyond the borders, but the city itself is livable, at least.
Meanwhile, the far western sector houses the docks by the ocean- water temp is definitely far from tropical, but it’s not super chilly either? There’s generally more rain and humidity over in that area. Beaches are rocky, but they work.
It snows sometimes, in the northern sectors, but maybe only enough for 1 or 2 proper snow days a year. The walls around and within the city can kinda screw with the weather at times, but people have learned to adapt. It’s better than the outside world’s doing, after all.
cough cough same event that caused emergent powers kinda screwed up a lot of the world too cough humanity’s had time to rebuild and didn’t really have any sorta ‘scrap scavenger world’ period, but things are still pretty messed up outside of most major cities cough cough
