okay but your gifset of shane and ilya hugging got me thinking about how yes they've always been soft and sweet and tender about each other (even if they wouldn't/didn't want to admit it at first) but how they didn't fully allow themselves to hold hands or hug or touch just for the sake of touching without it necessarily leading to more until the cottage (and the car ride there obviously; i'm still not over ilya cradling shane's hand between his own) but once they got over that threshold they couldn't stop themselves from looking and touching in the softest of ways and whisper even softer i love you's and just. existing together. annnnnnnd i don't remember where i was going with this but!!! season 2 soft tender boyfriends i hope they hold hands always okay that was all i got (for now) <3
they have! it was an active mental fight for them to not show the tenderness. stupid boys. but during ep 6 (and mixing in some book canon), they just ping-ponged encouragement to each other in small ways. shane saying i'm glad you're here. ilya holding his hand. and so on. and god in the book like there's this line ilya says like "can i tell you i love you again?" like they can't stop! once they opened that lid it was doneeeeee!
and me too i can't wait for them to be open with their affection. s2 is gonna be a lot of internal work for them but they are sure they want to be together forever so we have that!!! 😭🩵
