Celebrate a special birthday with these delightful marbled cookies that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The swirls of pink and white dough create a magical and inviting treat that's perfect for sharing.
Ingredients: 1 cup butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. teaspoon baking powder. teaspoon salt. Food coloring pink and white. Edible glitter or sprinkles.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Add a few drops of pink food coloring to one portion and knead until the color is evenly distributed. Leave the other portion white. Take a small amount of each colored dough and roll them into ropes. Twist the pink and white dough ropes together to create a marbled effect. Shape the twisted ropes into heart shapes or any desired shape. Place the shaped cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once the cookies are completely cool, you can decorate them with edible glitter or sprinkles. Enjoy these delightful and colorful cookies with your loved ones! Happy birthday, Usagi!
