Marawi Feels Victory
Marawi City, officially known as the Islamic City of Marawi (Maranao: Inged san Marawi; Arabic: مدينة مراوي; Filipino: Lungsod Islamiko ng Marawi), is the capital and the only city in the province of Lanao del Sur on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 201,785 making it the most populous in the province of Lanao del Sur.
These past few months, Marawi was being strike/attacked by an ISIS Militants. Many lives, livelyhood, buildings, structures, etc. has been lost. But despite of those losts victory came upon the place and the people of the Marawi City and also the philippines can no feel freedom AGAIN.
The Philippines has declared an end to five months of fighting in southern Marawi City between the armed forces and ISIS militants, the country’s defence minister says. The declaration of victory was announced by General Danilo Pamonag, during a military ceremony in Marawi, where he said the operation began with clearing some 3,000 structures or buildings and “now, we have reached our objective.”
Victory and freedome is now placed upon the place again. Thanks to the soldiers who sacreficed their lives just to being back the freedom that Marawi once had, the actions of our dearest fellow countrymen for their prayers.
