I found this article interesting because it draws the line between fashion and portrait photography, which is partly why I wanted to research this question. The most important part of the article is about the celebrity portrait being confused with a fashion narrative, an interesting perspective that I've not really considered before but that is completely valid. The main focus of a celebrity portrait is of course the celebrity, the clothing is used to compliment the celebrity therefore promoting the clothes but they are definitely a secondary thing.
Reiterating what I've already learnt the components of a fashion narrative include:
a particular colour of a combination of colours e.g. bold colours, pastels, could be an all red shoot.
A type of clothing
A fabric, could be knitwear
An attitude or aesthetic e.g. grunge, punk
A lifestyle
An activity
