Ingredients: 4 breakfast sausage patties. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 4 large eggs. 1/4 cup maple syrup. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon butter. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. While the grill or pan is heating, prepare the maple mayo by mixing 1/4 cup of mayonnaise with 1/4 cup of maple syrup in a small bowl. Set aside. Place the breakfast sausage patties on the grill or in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice char. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and allow it to melt. While the sausages are cooking, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a separate pan over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook them to your desired level of doneness, seasoning with salt and pepper as you like. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly browned. To assemble the breakfast burgers, spread a generous amount of the maple mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Place a sausage patty with melted cheese on top of the mayo. Then, add a cooked egg on top of the sausage patty. Finally, top with the other half of the bun.
