Oh boy, some people really need to realize that asking for originality when it comes to ships isn't a "I used these tropes so that means no one else can use them" and more of a "you're allowed to follow popular tropes, but it's going to be sus AF if you start talking about a trope, pairing or whatever as soon as you see someone else doing it and getting attention over it".
People complaining about "lack of originality" aren't gatekeeping things, they're just asking for you to not come and straight up copy their ideas.
Mostly because when it comes to shipping (whether it is with an Oc or self-insert), most of us use personal experience. It's like someone telling a funny or sad childhood story, getting reactions about it and someone else stealing that just to get attention.
Just- don't. Have a bit of shame.
No but fr I think it should be normal and ok to ask for a members list or something similar before joining a server/when getting an invite.
Like- hey, I'm not in the best terms with some people in the community and I would rather avoid interacting with them, and I'm sure if I knew if they're there before joining you also save you from an awkward situation.

Step 2: Take like a month writing and deleting the first drabble because it feels pretty bad, plus making the blog look decent and a pinned post.

For starters... I hate Fugo XD. Won't elaborate here since that isn't the point of this ask, but it kind of affects in a way.
Another thing is that I just- don't understand the ship?? Mind you, part 5 didn't really make me watch it more than once, but I didn't really see a reason to ship them. And yeah, I know you can ship characters without a reason, but I personally don't do that.
Other than that, while not everyone (gotta be specific before someone comes for my throat), a lot of the people who ship them are kind of... Puritanist? I've seen a lot of toxic people who ship them go crazy when you don't ship the same thing, and using terms that shouldn't be taken so lightly (I mean, it's not that deep, it's just two characters, others can have a different opinion).
And same as most ships on the poll, the fact people treat it as almighty and canon made it become pretty annoying to see around, mostly when it's so popular.

And yeah, the ship is there for a reason. I know Vanilla didn't have that much of character development, but something just don't sit well when he's reduced to nothing but a simp.
Like- it was funny at first, I admit it. But it's tiresome now.
Worst of all is that people don't even give a deeper reasoning of why he would follow Dio so blindly, they just go "haha, he's a pathetic simp"

Oh boy... Listen, I don't seek to start drama because fuck that, I don't have time for it, so I'll be brief and have the decency of not pointing names.
But yeah, it has happened before and sadly, it happened pretty recently as well, every time from different people. Hell, even if it hadn't happened to me, it has happened to friends and people should have at least a bit of respect for others' work.
And I know some people might think "you're exaggerating, your stuff isn't even that good/popular". Trust me, I had the same thoughts. But there's a point where the "coincidences" start to happen too often and to get more and more shameless (in the times it happened to me, those people even had the nerve to post the same kind of stuff mere minutes after me, whether here or on discord).
Now... As I've said before, I'm not "gatekeeping" the stuff I've used. In fact, I also follow a few common tropes, and everyone is free to do so. But there's a different thing between being inspired by someone's work, and straight up copying their ideas.
You can be inspired and all, but PLEASE ask the artists and creators for permission before taking it, and for fuck's sake, GIVE CREDIT TO THEM.
With all that said, and as I've also said before, I have no time to deal with drama and this kind of stuff. I've made the mistake of giving the benefit of the doubt to people way too many times, but now I'm just going to put my foot down and, if needed, block.
