🇪🇸 Entre los años 1300 y 1350, se creó una Biblia hebrea en Castilla, España, utilizando tinta, temple y oro. Durante el siglo XIV, esta biblia fue una de las tres únicas que sobrevivieron en esa región. A lo largo de ese tiempo, España fue influenciada por las culturas islámicas y cristianas, con fronteras cambiantes debido a las guerras. Los judíos vivían junto a musulmanes y cristianos, adoptando costumbres y visuales islámicas. Este manuscrito presenta un borde caligráfico en hebreo y arcos de herradura islámicos. En el texto central, se utilizan patrones de micrografía judía. Las páginas iluminadas al principio y al final del manuscrito muestran influencias góticas europeas. Después de la expulsión de los judíos en 1492, esta biblia viajó al Imperio Otomano. Finalmente, se vendió en Tesalónica y llegó a manos de un rabino destacado, siendo un símbolo cultural y religioso de la comunidad judía. ✨

🇺🇸 Between 1300 and 1350, a Hebrew Bible was created in Castile, Spain, using ink, tempera, and gold. During the 14th century, this bible was one of the three that survived in that region. Throughout that time, Spain was influenced by Islamic and Christian cultures, with shifting boundaries due to wars. Jews lived alongside Muslims and Christians, adopting Islamic customs and visuals. This manuscript features a calligraphic border in Hebrew and Islamic horseshoe arches. In the central text, Jewish micrography patterns are used. The illuminated pages at the beginning and end of the manuscript show European Gothic influences. After the expulsion of Jews in 1492, this bible traveled to the Ottoman Empire. Eventually, it was sold in Thessaloniki and reached the hands of a prominent rabbi, being a cultural and religious symbol for the Jewish community. ✨
