Although it had some groove and swagger, “Poison” was still as ravenous as the rest of Welcome to Hell thanks to Cronos’ belching and the guys playing their instruments as if they were brand new to them.  Such was the lovable haplessness of early Venom, when their ludicrous tales of loose women sounded even more ridiculous due to the red-eyed mania they brought to everything they did.  Cronos may have thought he was being tough and macho, but his drooling was even more buffoonish than when he yowled about loving Satan.  But of course the hilarious stupidity of it all was exactly what made bashers like “Poison” such glorious fun, and the borderline sincerity of their nonsense made it that much more hysterical.
